PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

Enfield Community College was established in 2020 under the patronage of Louth Meath Education Training Board. Our college is a multi-denominational, co-educational post-primary school catering for an ever-increasing population growth within the greater Enfield area. The foundations which we used to build our new school community and culture was respect, inclusion, honesty, teamwork, integrity, kindness, responsibility and diversity.

Our mission statement underlines our philosophy of fostering self-esteem, a positive attitude towards learning, the promotion of responsible behaviour and the encouragement of dignity and respect in all our endeavours. We consider each student to be unique in personality and in spirit.

Currently our college is located in the refurbished ESB building on Main Street Enfield. After Christmas, additional classrooms and specialised rooms will be on site also. Our specialised rooms include woodwork technology, home economics kitchen, science lab and an art room. Over the next three years, our college will see huge transformations with the development of our 1,000 pupil state-of-the-art new school building. Please take some time to visit our website [email protected] to view same.

Throughout our journey our focus will be to provide a quality learning experience with the learner as the core. It is our priority to provide a safe, positive and supportive learning environment for all our students. A comprehensive academic curriculum is promoted in addition to an extensive programme of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

We are privileged to have such a dynamic, enthusiastic and dedicated staff and leadership team in our college. Our teachers already have a reputation for encouraging excellence in their students in a manner that is both supportive and challenging. The school places an emphasis on CPD (continuous professional development) for all its teachers and they are innovative and engaged in new teaching strategies and methodologies, in line with the New Junior Cycle Specifications.

The challenge in Enfield Community College is to set standards which will command the respect and the pride of the community. Our goals include aspiring towards excellence, creating high expectations, developing a holistic approach to education and instilling a sense of pride and respect among parents, pupils and staff. We pride ourselves in providing a high quality education to all of our students, inspiring them to develop their abilities to their full potential. All who are associated with our college are focused on our success and on providing a quality education for the youth of the community whom we serve.

For many years now, the people of Enfield have fought to get a secondary school for the area. We feel very honoured and privileged to be here.
