Clubs and Activities Available

Students are encouraged to take part in at least one activity from the wide range available:

Gaelic Football (Boys & Girls)

Our school has a proud tradition of Gaelic Football. Participation in GAA promotes teamwork, fitness, discipline, and school spirit. Students of all abilities are encouraged to take part — from beginners learning the skills to experienced players competing in local and regional competitions. Joining Gaelic Football is the perfect way to keep active, build friendships, and feel part of something special here in ECC!

Our boys’ Gaelic football teams have enjoyed outstanding success in recent seasons, reflecting the talent, dedication, and teamwork of our players. Highlights include winning the Br. Hubert Division D Junior Shield (2025) and the North Leinster First Year Division D Plate (2025). The teams were also runners-up in the Br. Hubert Division D Junior Cup (2024) and winners of the North Leinster First Year Division D title (2023).

Across all age groups, our players have consistently reached semi-final and final stages in both the North Leinster and Br. Hubert competitions, showcasing the growing strength of Gaelic football in our school, with passion, teamwork, and pride driving us to even greater success!

Camogie

Camogie is open to all girls in the school and is a great way to stay active, learn new skills, and be part of a team. Training takes place in Na Fianna, where the focus is on improving skills, building confidence, and enjoying the game. Camogie is growing every year in our school, with more players getting involved and representing us proudly in local competitions. We have strong links with nearby clubs, whose support and success help inspire our players and strengthen the connection between school and community. Everyone is welcome — whether you’re a beginner picking up a hurley for the first time or an experienced player looking to develop your game further.

Soccer

Soccer continues to grow in popularity at Enfield Community College. We field teams for junior boys, U15, U17, 1st & 2nd year boys, and a girls’ team, training and playing home fixtures at Enfield Celtic Grounds.

Our teams compete in inter-school leagues and tournaments, focusing on teamwork, skill-building, and fair play. Our school’s soccer teams have achieved great success in recent years — the First Year Boys reached the Leinster Final of the North East League in 2023, and the U15 Boys team followed by reaching the final in 2025, showcasing the growing strength of soccer in our school.

Athletics Club

Our Athletics Club welcomes students of all abilities. Events include sprinting, distance running, jumping, and throwing. Members represent the school at regional and Leinster competitions. The club focuses on personal fitness, goal setting, and supporting one another’s achievements.

Band Rehearsals

Students with a love of music can join the school band, which rehearses weekly during lunchtimes. The band performs at school events, celebrations, and community gatherings, encouraging creativity, collaboration, and confidence through music.

Music continues to thrive in ECC, with students achieving fantastic results and growing participation each year. Our bands and musicians have enjoyed great success at the Wesley College Interschools Music Festival, including 3rd place in the U16 Singing Competition by Sarah Lynam and winners of the U15 Rock Band competition with Minted. Other school bands have also placed strongly in their categories, while Rhys achieved 2nd place in the U15 Guitar Competition.

This year also saw the exciting launch of our new Brass Band, led by Fabio Neves, with 12 enthusiastic members learning trumpet, trombone, and euphonium. ECC musicians are active both in and outside of school, performing at community events such as Culture Night, showcasing their talent and passion for music. The growing success of our music programme reflects the creativity, teamwork, and dedication of our students.

Art Portfolio Class

This lunchtime club provides dedicated time and guidance for students developing art portfolios, particularly those considering art or design at senior level or third level. Students explore techniques, receive feedback, and expand their creative skills in a supportive environment.

Our students have enjoyed great success in art competitions in recent years. We were proud to take first place in the Robert Ballagh Art Competition, with several students also recognised in the Enfield Credit Union Art Competition as winners and runners-up each year. In addition, two of our students were shortlisted for the RELOVE Art Competition, reflecting the creativity, talent, and dedication of our young artists.

Craft Club (Art Club)

Craft Club gives students a space to explore creative projects, from painting to sculpture and decorative crafts. It’s a great opportunity to relax, express creativity, and learn new techniques under the guidance of art teachers.

Crochet Club

The Crochet Club aims to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students of all skill levels to learn, share, and connect through crochet.
It promotes creativity, patience, and relaxation, and is a wonderful way for students across all year groups to form friendships and unwind in a stress-free setting.

Board Game Club

Board Game Club takes place weekly at lunchtime and offers students a chance to enjoy strategy games, puzzles, and friendly competition. It’s an inclusive and social space where students can develop critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Vocal Lab (Choir)

Vocal Lab is open to students of all year groups who love to sing.

They regularly take part in the Darkness Into Light ceremony, the annual Christmas concert, and visits to the Centre for Autism in Dunfirth and Parke Nursing Home, bringing music and joy to others. The group also supports important causes, performing at fundraising events in Dublin Airport in aid of Pieta House and St. Vincent de Paul

Vocal Lab gives students the chance to share their love of music while making a positive difference in the community.

Robotics Club

The Robotics Club introduces students to engineering, coding, and teamwork through hands-on projects.
Members design, build, and program robots to compete in LEGO League competitions each year.

Established in 2023, our Robotics Club is now in its third year and growing from strength to strength. What began with two teams has expanded to four, all competing in the FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL) 2025/26 UNEARTHED Season.

Our progress is supported by STEAM Meath (in partnership with Creative Hut and META) and the DCU STInt Programme, which help us provide more opportunities for students.

Since launching, our teams have earned Innovation and Core Values Awards at the Meath Regionals, the Breakthrough School Award at the National Finals (2023), and Regional Awards for Robot Design and Core Values in 2024.
