Annual Christmas hamper Collection

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s), Following on from our successful St Vincent de Paul Christmas hamper collection last year, Enfield Community College will be organising a Christmas hamper collection again this year. Last year we sent 30 food hampers down to our local St Vincent de Paul shop which were then given to those in need in the local community for Christmas. The Society of St Vincent de Paul is the largest, voluntary, charitable organization in Ireland with over 9,500 volunteers in Ireland. They provide help and assistance to over 20,000 families at Christmas. Our Second Year CSPE students and our Student Council are organising the Hamper Collection this year. Boxes will be placed in each classroom for the collection of non-perishable food items. We would be very grateful of any food donations, and we would appreciate if students could bring in items from the start of next week. The closing date for the Collection of food items is the 8th of December as St Vincent De Paul would like to distribute hampers the following week. By donating non-perishable food items, you will be helping families and individuals in our community to enjoy a special Christmas. The food/hampers will be distributed by the society to families in need in the Enfield area. We would be very grateful for any of the following items: Tinned Foods: Tinned Fruit/Vegetables, Packet/Tinned Soup, Tinned Spaghetti and Baked Beans, Tinned Tuna/Fish, Tin Stews/meatballs. Cereals & Other Items: Breakfast Cereals and Muesli, Noodles, Rice and Pasta, Pasta/Rice Sauce, Muesli Bars, Tea and Coffee, Sugar, marmalade. Treats: Chocolate, Crisps, Biscuits, Popcorn, Sweets, Soft Drinks Christmas Items: Christmas cake, Mince Pies, Christmas Crackers Toiletries Please ensure any foods donated are non-perishable items and their expiry dates are well into the next year. Our School very much appreciates your support with this collection as we strive to work together as a Community.  Many thanks,Kind regards,Helena Mooney & Mairéad Gilmartin (Organising Teachers).
